Problem
What was breaking
The founding team had a working inventory process in a single-tenant app. New customers were being cloned by hand. Permissions were informal, and nobody could say which tenant owned which SKU history.
Solution
What we built
We restructured the product around workspaces, tenant-scoped data, and invitation-based roles. Catalog, stock, and purchase activity live inside a tenant boundary. Billing plans gate the features that actually cost more to operate, not an arbitrary dashboard theme.
Outcome
Harborstack can onboard a new wholesaler without engineering involvement. Support staff have an admin view; they no longer SSH into production to reset a password or inspect a tenant.
